Solenoids

A solenoid is an electrical device used to control the operation of a golf cart. It is typically located near the battery and consists of a coil of wire, an armature, and a plunger. When electricity is applied to the coil, it creates a magnetic field that causes the armature to move and activate the plunger. This in turn activates other components in the golf cart such as switches, relays, and motors.
